Dimitris Anastasopoulos

Main Information

He an Attorney-at-Law admitted before the Greek Supreme Court with experience in Public Law, especially public procurement, in Criminal Law, especially financial crimes, in Information Technology Law and in Personal Data Protection.

He is a founding member and the President of the Union of Greek Jurists e-THEMIS (ethemis.gr), a pioneering association for the protection of personal data in Greece, in the context of which, he has organized many scientific activities, especially national conferences, introducing at the same time the institution of the National Forum of the Legal Profession.

From 2014 until 2025, he served as an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Bar Association, for the office of Presidency of which he stood in the most recent elections (2025), receiving the support of approximately 4.000 members of the Bar.

He also chaired the Organising Committee for the Athens Bar Association’s GDPR Compliance Seminars and participated in the Criminal Law Committee and the Information Technology Committee of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), was a member of the Standing Committee on Constitutional and Fundamental Rights of the Athens Bar Association and is a member of the Hellenic Association of Criminologists and the Hellenic Commercial Attorney-at-Laws Association.

Education

• He has completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
• Postgraduate studies in the same University in the department of Criminal Law
• Visiting Researcher at Harvard University in Boston, America
• He has attended numerous conferences, particularly in the fields of Criminal Law and Public Procurement.

Writing Work

• He has written a number of scientific articles and contributions, especially in Public Law, Criminal Law and Personal Data.

• Moreover, he is the author of the book “Lawyers Daily Practice – A Practical Guide for Lawyers” published in 2025 by Nomiki Bibliothiki (Legal Library). To date, the book has been acquired by thousands of lawyers.
